As far as I know, when you have project transactions and Work Order Transactions there is not a way to send the customer a single invoice. You have to invoice the project transactions using a project invoice and you have to invoice the work order transactions through a Customer Order. Am I right on this?Is there a way to combine both into a single invoice?Our customer is concerned about the acceptability of receiving multiple invoices.Any ideas might be helpful.Thank you.
I’m trying to create a sales contract from a Business Opportunity. In the Create Sales Contract dialog, in the lower section I set my line no, description and set my Calculation type for Sales Value and my calculation method of Rate Only and Fixed. When the Sales Contract is created, the only values that come over from the Opportunity and ones where I’ve set the calculation method to Fixed. Does anyone know why the values when I am using Rate Only are not coming over to the Sales Contract?
I have a project connected work order. If I have a task of duration =1 and a cost for the MTCE Ord = 60. Should I see a planned cost of $60 showing on the project activity?Thank you.
Hello,I’m using the old-school resource allocation in Projects. I’ve got my resource assigned and was checking some data, particularly the Resource Analysis and Resource Activity Load Detail. The graph nor the detail show any results. But if I look at the Resource Activity Load, I see what I was looking for.Any ideas whey I would see numbers in one screen vs another? I watched the you tube video and studied what I think is the extend of the information in our help documentation. In the old days, we needed to have a certificate registered for the person who is doing the signing. I don’t see references to needing a certificate in the help documents but I do see a Signing Certificates section within the Solution Manager. Is that what I’m thinking about?How does all the work? Do I need to have a person who is signing a document have to be registered as having a signing certificate. How about for Internal vs External Users?Is there a place when I can see the whole story behind the use and setup of this functionality? Patrick

I have a scenario where I have a large number of records that are affected by a change in the Engineering Part Navigator using the Edit All function. When hitting save the system gives you the normal indication that it is working (the spinner) and after a while, the spinner will disappear from the screen. This gives the illusion that the on-line job has finished its work. But, if you go ahead and try to change one of the records, the system tells you that the record is being changed. Any ideas what would cause the spinner to disappear but that the on-line job has not finished?
I’ve got an EngPartStructure that Consist of 240 parts. When I use Edit All to change the sort code for all of them, the system says All (240) records were changed. That’s good. But when I filter the data to a subset and use the Edit All, screen updates to show my filtered data but the result of the Edit All still indicates that All (240) records were change. That is not something I expected. Is something going on where the Edit All functionality is counting the rows incorrectly or that it is stlil going to go ahead and update all the records?Thank you

Within Object Properties we have a Property Name of PROJ_UPDATE_METHOD under the MaintenanceConfiguration LU. It can be set to BATCH or ONLINE. I have to assume that it is a process that is updating the project but I’m hoping to get some details as to what is being updated, how it works, and what triggers it.I’m all ears (eyes?) is someone has a glossary of these properties Thank youPatrick

It looks like we’ve added a new “standard” Document Class to our database. Now I see that we have INVOICE and DISCO DOC and its definition says it is Attachments related to Historical Record.What historical record is this referring to? How is it intergrated into the system? It appears that we have Conditions for = and !- but are lacking the full set of conditions that we would want to use for controlling data. Primarily, I’m interested to know whether a field contains data of any value.Am I seeing things correctly? I know there is a workaround to create a custom field (True False) but that is a kluge. Is there anything on the horizon that will improve this capability?Thank you.
Hello,I’m trying to see if there is a User Guide for IFS 23R1 or any of the modern versions for that matter. I’ve found the Cloud - Aurena User Guide but it is dated December 2020 – Early Access and its screenshot are old. I also have the PPT named How Presentation_UX23R1 (I’ll be darned if I know what the use of the word How is supposed to mean), which talks about 23R1 Enhancements.Do we have a single document (PPT) with everything included that is dated currently? I also understand that the use of the Aurena designation is passé. Should the current documentation mention Aurena at all?Thank you.Patrick
We use the filter a lot on the Consists Of tab in the Engineering Part Navigator. We look for, say, a specific Drawing Position and create a filter for that. We then select different part numbers from our selector and we expected that the filter remains in place. The system used to work this way.We’re now on 23R1 and the filter is worse, now. As you as you select a different part number, the filter that was set on the first part is removed and the filter section collapses. So not only can’t you use the same filter while selecting different part numbs, but you also have to re-expand the filter section in order to re-enter the criteria.I view this as a significant reduction in the useability of the UX.Is there any way to put this back the way it was before 23R1?Patrick
We don’t have checkboxes in Cloud, we have slides. Our documentation is riddled with the wording that refers to the checkbox. When we used to use checkboxes, we would say “Check Receive Application”.What is the correct name for this? Is it a slide button? Or is it a slider?How do we refer to it, would we say “Set Receive Application” to TRUE. Or, maybe, we should say “Enable Receive Application”? Example slide button.
Hello,I’m in 23R1 and working with Sub Contract/Sub Contract Approvals. I have an Approval ID set in the Approvals section of this screen. According to the materials I have and what I remember from the old days, I should be able to associate and approval routing to my approval ID. I must be missing something. How do I tie the approval routing to the approval id so that I need to have all steps approved before I can change the status to Awarded, for example.Thank youPatrick
Engineering Part Revision used to have a checkbox that would set the part revision to Released on save.I believe it was in a grouping called “On Save”. It is very handy when all you want to do is Release the revision and not fight the step of going to Active.Did that get removed?Patrick
Hello,Our customer has spools of wire in inventory, Each may have different lengths of wire. One thing is certain, they quantity that they need has to be continuous. The could supply 500 ft from a 600 ft Qty in Stock for a single item. But, they cannot supply 500 ft with a 400 ft piece and a 100 ft piece. They use the term “Indivisible”.We’re looking for a way to tell the system that we only want to pick from a single spool and not have it think that even though we have have plenty in stock, that we can fulfill that demand by use two or more lengths.Has anyone worked a solution for this? When I try, i get an error that “The Activity is used by 1 rows in another object (Project Baseline Detail).I thought we used to have a selection that said to “exclude from project baseline” but in 21R2, I don’t see that selection.How do I go about deleting an activity if it has a baseline?Thank youPatrick
It seems that when I create a Shop Order within Project Deliverables that the system automatically sets the Supply Type for the Material to Project Inventory. Is there a way to define the parts or setup the system so that we can use standard inventory for the shop order material? Thank youPatrick
