I’m working on an upgrade from 23.1.3 to 23.2.5. If I have a problem with, say, the deploy.ini of a component, it doesn't get caught in the topic environment build or the sanity build, so I have to wait all the way until I attempt a delivery before it shows up. It takes a whole day to delete an environment, rebuild the topic environment, do the sanity build, and build the delivery. (I’ve resorted to skipping the topic environment build, but it doesn’t feel right.)Why are there these extra checks at the delivery stage that aren’t caught earlier? It seems to me that this defeats the purpose of the topic environment build and the sanity build. It doesn’t actually prove it’s sane.Can I recreate or simulate these extra checks to do better unit testing?Is there a faster way to develop?
In 23.2.5, POST_Docman_UpdateDocumentIssueHistorySequence.sql has a syntax error because we don't have the component FNDRPL installed.To fix this myself, can I overtake a POST script in the customer-solution repository?
Today with Apps 9, we have multiple DEV environments hosted on a single application server and on a single database server. We keep them separated with different database service names and different port numbers. (Production has its own set of servers, as does our final UAT environment.) When we move to a Remote deployment of IFS Cloud, is this still going to be feasible? Will we be able to host multiple nonproduction instances on a single server? ...and would we still want to?
We’ve decided to drop an integration module so we can rewrite it ourselves in a way that meets our business requirements. Question 1:When I remove the -Cust files in other modules that reference the custom module, I get build errors when I try to create the topic environment, as though the topic environment isn’t built from a clean slate. My workaround so far has been to rewrite these as nearly empty files, but I’d rather remove them. How can I remove -Cust files that are no longer needed from the customer solution repository in a way that allows the topic environment to successfully build without them?Question 2:Even after disabling the module in solutionset.yaml, the packages from the custom module are still showing up as invalid objects in the error logs from the topic environment (_ERROR_install.log). It fails to even get that far if I remove the line from solutionset.yaml altogether. What’s the right way to drop a module and its associated packages?
If I’m understanding the documentation correctly, it sounds like I should be able to store our Crystal Reports RPT files in either OpenReportPath or in the database. However, when I try to create a quick report definition in 22R2, it won’t let me save unless I supply it with a layout file right then and there. Does this mean I can no longer store RPT files in our Crystal server’s OpenReportPath? Do I have to move these to the database?

We have a couple files in our delivery with path names like this: UB1-MWS-2220UB\ifsroot\deliveries\InstallationFiles\manualdeploy\database\_utilities\pre\InvalidObjectList.sql I can’t find this file in customer-baseline or customer-solution. If I want to change this file, where would I put it in Git so it gets replaced in the delivery?
Has anyone built a mod to lengthen an out-of-the-box field in Apps 9? The field currently supports 11 characters, and I’d like to stretch that out to 12. Besides altering the Oracle column and updating the metadata in the many column comments and application tables, does the IEE .NET client hold this kind of metadata hard-coded? Is it hard-coded anywhere in the Java middleware?
We’re working through a Cloud upgrade with a remote deployment. I’m running into a lot of performance issues, and I’d like to explore using different antimalware solutions, different public clouds, and different on-prem hardware. Whenever I copy our production database somewhere, though, it creates a significant business risk, so I need a full-sized copy of our system that has been made safe enough to use for this exploratory purpose. I need to mask or sanitize our entire database to reduce or eliminate the risk of our business data getting compromised. Question 1: Has anyone scrubbed a database like this? How did you do it? There’s a pack available for Oracle Database Enterprise Edition called the Data Masking and Subsetting Pack. I saw that it needs to be licensed for the source database, or in this case our PROD 9 database. Question 2: Does this pack need to be licensed for every user or just the IT users who are working in the sanitized environment? Even if I can manage to mask all
What purpose is served by the index HISTORY_LOG_ATTRIBUTE_RK? Can I drop this index and/or its constraint? What specifically will happen if I do? Most of my experience in tuning Oracle databases has been with read-heavy systems, so it’s a new and interesting problem for me to optimize writes. I set a couple of Oracle parameters to temporarily improve commit performance (COMMIT_LOGGING=BATCH and COMMIT_WAIT=NOWAIT). I plan to change these back before handing the system off to end users. We’re currently upgrading, and for DocMan, we’d like to move away from FTP and start using SMB. Our new application on version 22R1SU3 isn’t working with DocMan over a UNC share. We’re a Windows shop, and we have our Linux middleware segregated off into its own network so we can properly treat it like a black box. What port do we need to open for the middleware to talk to the file server? Is it enough to just open 445? I used telnet to confirm the middleware host can see port 445 on the file server. Can I do any further checking to see if the containers can see the port? From EDM Basic, I tried the hostname and the IP address, and neither worked, but nevertheless, is there a way to confirm DNS is working? I would much prefer to use human-readable hostnames. For a UNC path, can you confirm which //direction \\the //slashes \\ought //to \\go? The username is on our domain. What should the format look like, e.g. acme.com\coyote or coyote@acme.com? I’m getting the error “Error while serializing contents” when I attempt to create a new Customer address in one of our Remote nonproduction Cloud upgrade environments.I can’t reproduce this in our DEV environment hosted in the Cloud Build Place, built from the Customer Solution repository.Under Address Setup, I changed the CustomerInfoAddress in the Remote environment so no fields were mandatory, so it matches the CBP DEV environment. I know the installation script can grab ACPs from a folder location, but this requires downtime.I know the Aurena GUI application can accept ACP ZIP files, but doing this in a web browser requires a mouse and can’t be scripted. When deploying a lot of ACPs, it’s too easy to miss one. I’d like a process for deploying ACPs in a brutally repeatable fashion (i.e. scripted) without causing end user downtime. Under EDM Repositories in Apps 9, we use a wildcard * for the Document Class.This wildcard isn’t honored when I uplift this setup into Cloud, nor can I save a repository in Aurena if it has this wildcard.We have nearly a hundred document classes but exactly one document repository. Is there a way to avoid duplicating the EDM Repositories setup across all our document classes?

In the last couple months, some of our end users haven't been able to start IFS Sales and Marketing from Edge. We believe it's affecting our other ClickOnce business applications, too, not just IFS. We've been able to work around this using Chrome and/or Firefox.Has anyone run into ClickOnce issues in Edge, and if so, have you found a solution?
We’re upgrading from IFS Applications 9 to IFS Cloud. Along the way, the scripts drop the Oracle accounts for our end users. The application is missing a lot of reporting capabilities, and without the SQL Query Tool, we’d like to give read-only access to the database so certain users can get their work done. How do you recommend we go about granting read-only database access? From an ASFU licensing perspective, can I use two different usernames for the same named user, to keep the FND user and Oracle user segregated?
This feels like a n00b question... I'm writing a report in SQL. What is the best JOIN clause from the inventory transaction history (INVENTORY_TRANSACTION_HIST) to the customer order invoices (CUSTOMER_ORDER_INV_JOIN)? I want to see the inventory transaction history so I can see all the cost elements on an invoiced order line. I need a solution capable of handling multiple deliveries on the same line. The closest I've gotten so far is to use the proximity of the invoice and delivery dates, but that doesn’t feel completely right. I don't think I need to handle credits (yet).
We are in the process of migrating our Exchange 2013 on-prem email environment to Exchange Online. We currently use IFS 9 with multiple IFS Sales and Marketing 8 GSS instances to synchronise between SaM and our sales teams' appointments, tasks, and contacts. These have been and continue to work between our IFS environment and our on-prem Exchange mailboxes. Our Exchange admin used one of our IFS testing environments, checked GSS is working as expected on-prem, then migrated the master account (and its mailbox) and a test user with its mailbox into AzureAD and Exchange online. He followed the instructions to successfully configure the Impersonation role and apply this to the master account. Both the master and test accounts have Exchange licenses applied to them and basic authentication is enabled. He logged in to Outlook online successfully as the master account to confirm it is working and accessible with the correct password.While running ConnectionTester from the GSS server console

I want to create a custom LU that I can link to multiple kinds of objects (customers, suppliers, orders, invoices… whatever). It has a column CF$_PARENT_OBJKEY that I’m using to hold the OBJKEY for the linked object.When I create a custom tab in IEE, OBJKEY isn’t in the dropdown for the Parent Key, but it doesn’t complain when I enter it in manually. (I confirmed a nonsensical field name isn’t allowed, proving that OBJKEY is passing some kind of validation.)(Ironically, OBJKEY is one of the allowed fields on the Child Key.) However, even with this column set up as the link, the custom tab doesn’t seem to be filtering. We’d like to pilot business processes around this now in IEE, but we’ll definitely want it for our upgrade to Cloud that’s already in progress. Can I set up an OBJKEY custom tab link in IEE? Can I set up an OBJKEY custom tab link in Aurena?
