Better collaboration for better solutions

Add the ability for at least the backend to draw shapes on the map

In the near future BC One Call will be providing a GML file with the shape that the customer drew on the map while creating their ticket. We will be able to pass this information into MWFM and it would be nice if MWFM could render that shape on the map for the end user.   The GML standard provide plenty of detail for whatever mapping solution you are using to render the incoming shape.

Let me check with the project team. I know we can receive attachments using base64 in XML and we can receive more than one (although it needs to be configured). However, I'm not sure about your specific interface. I'll let you know in a bit after I have touched base.

Support for GML would be good, though at this point it has been so long that I'm not sure they have even followed through with providing those files for us. A "next step" question would be "How do we load them into the Locate?"

We currently create the locates via a custom service based on Clevest.Business.API.Interface.dll that passes the locate XML and an encoded version of the map image from OneCall to WFM, which in turn creates the locate based on the XML data and attaches the embedded image (only one attachment allowed). Would feeding in GML work the same way or require a different approach?

Perhaps the GML could be included as a node of the master Locate XML, but WFM would have to have a way to deal with it.

    Hi Greg,
Apologies for the delay on this one! We currently support KML files which are essentially the 'google' version of GML. Let me know if that helps. I'll follow-up on support for GML with the team as well.
